I think they should bring back a new and improved version of the del sol? Has there been any news or thoughts on this since they discontinued it? I know sales plummeted the years after it came out..

I seriously doubt it. The Sol was a nice car but plagued by a horrible chassis (untypically Honda), girlish looks (I disagree on that front BTW), no torque at all, and no power except in the VTEC version. I'd expect a CRX comeback MUCH more likely than a del Sol comeback.

The Del Sol never did anything for me. And I would have to agree, a CRX would do much better in todays market. Why? Becuase it'll have the engine and the platform that young "hot rodders" want, at a low price.

i think honda needs a low end (cheaper than a miata) convertible...something affordable and fun with some power...the s2000 is a great car but it's too expensive...something like an rsx based convertible...people buy golf convertibles...so why not give them something that can handle and have fun in the sun

FWD cars dont make a good base for drop tops. Theres lots of cowl shake and chassis flex and all those bad things going on.

Yeah a CRX come back would be cooler now that you think about it.

But the del sol had excellent handling..what if they made an AWD or RWD del sol with like a new ivtec motor lol..that would be neat.

but for the CRX...

Just modify that Insight Chassis :-P

No, they seriously could do that. The problem is it's so expensive because it's aluminum....it'd end up costing 18-20 grand, Si territory. Can you imagine an Insight chasis with small i-VTEC engine? Oh, the possibility!

Honda truly needs a back to basics stripper model that offers fun, but does not impede on Civic Si territory. I hate to say it, but something that offers the driving virtues of the Focus ZX3 would be decent.
