Default Bet you thought the US had it good with the 300hp 2.5L STi?

WRONG

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/?http:/...y.php?id=33562

A senior source at the company told Auto Express: "Subaru has something quite special in the pipeline. We're now working on a 3.0-litre turbo Impreza for Japan and Europe that will generate in excess of 350bhp.

Oh well it was good while it lasted. US had the most powerful STi for about 15min...

I'm guessing that its a flat 6 right? Oh well, it wont be hard to gain an extra 50hp on our STi. And for now, its the best. So until that comes out, we rock. What makes you think we'll never see that here either?

Subaru should put that 3.0 F6 turbo engine into Legacy instead of Impreza I think.

Aren't engines in Japan "technically" limited to 276HP? I thought I heard that somewhere awhile ago. Correct me if I'm wrong.

2007 will come sooner than you think it will. Subaru is really beginning to impress me.

All they need to do is get rid of that gawd awful canary yellow from the WRX lineup.

all for how much is what i wonder??? 38k-40k? no thanks. Why cant suburu offer this car or even the upcoming sti motor on a 2+2 sports car sheet metal? It is still an imprezza body. regardless of how fast it will be, I cant imagine spending that much on a car that looks as fast as your typical riced out 4 banger.

There was a gentlemans agreement they had to limit themsevles to 276hp. For the most part they still follow it, but it seems like more and mroe cars are coming out with a listed hp above 276.
