It's just a sidemarker thing. That's all.

(1) 300hp on a FWD? Whos to state that is ridiculous?:eh: Thats a ridiculous statement! If 300hp on FWD doesn't make sense to somebody, then besides the S2000 owners why are most people on this board striving for power gains? You think people only search for 280hp and stop cause 300hp is too much. Yes, a RWD or AWD would accomodate 300hp a lot better, but there is NOTHING wrong with 300hp on a FWD vehicle.

(2) If any one has seen some of my response posts to American car owners you already know my take. I have no respect for domestic vehicles, with the exception of DiamlerChrysler why, because its exactly that DIAMLERchrysler. Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, etc. have always been great cars, if they weren't do you think a company like Mercedes would merge? I think not.

(3) The new Neon SRT-4 is a great, and respectable tuned machine for the price. No matter what way you slice it... nothing comes close. The performance far exceeds anything I've seen for under $20k, yes the ergonomics of the vehicle leaves a lot of room for improvement, but quite frankly I DO NOT believe Dodge designed this vehicle for people looking for a quick "grocery getter". If this was the case, there would have been a larger production amount, but there is not. Dodge looked to sell this vehicle to a specialty market, one that they felt wanted to default the refinements of an RSX, for pure, unweilding performance and :driving: excitement!

Car and Driver review (on TNN) reflects some of your points, IMHO.

Maybe it's me, but I would have a problem spending $20,000 on a freakin' Neon, regardless if it did 0-60 in 5.6 seconds or not.

It's personal preference. I wouldn't mind getting this car if I'm looking for one, but I'm quite satisfied w/ my GS-R. Some people put performance over refinement and you obviously put refinement over performance. You can't really get both for $20k. This car out accelerate even the 350Z. Can't ask for more for that price. But to each his own.

The 350Z runs a 1/4m in 14 flat, the SRT-4 does a 14.2

One of the magazine (forgot which) got 14 sec. flat too. but if you compare all other # like 0-100, trap speed, 30-50, 50-70, the SRT-4 is faster.
