Anyway... I just like it cause it looks purdy.

Sorry about the bad pic

I never said its like a turbo eclipse, I was just sayin if its easy to mod like a DSM than for cheap money you'll get big power gains.
As for looks it looks better than a stock Neon, Cavalier, or Focus. But an RSX, Mazdaspeed Protoge, and a lot of other Japanese sport compacts look better.
Hopefully this SRT-4 will start some performance wars in the $20,000 and under sport compact market. Maybe honda will step up to the plate and release the RSX type-R over here, but we all know there is no way it would be priced anywhere near $20,000.
Perhaps we will see a supercharged SVT Focus and some kind of souped up Cavalier/Sunfire/Ion. So far the only thing at 20 grand that comes close to the performance-to-price ratio of the SRT-4 is the Mazdaspeed Protege. Nothing else is even in the same ballpark.

a JDM company!) did the same exact thing with the Integra Type-R... performance first.

If the SRT-4 was RWD or AWD I'd be liking it just as much as I like the WRX.
It's just that I hate FWD, regardless of who it is made by.

As for front wheel drive, yeah from a stop its not the best, but a 0-60 in 5.6 is pretty damn quick considering a stock WRX has all wheel drive and only runs a 5.4 and a 14.1 1/4m, after the 1/4m the SRT-4 will walk away from the WRX.
I've always been with ya, Mike...I envy and respect the car for its all out performance. However, its looks, fit and finish, reliability and interior are a whole different story...but it's still a damn good car, and well worth the 20 grand Chrysler wants for it.

A Mazdaspeed Protege wouldn't even come close performance wise, stock or modded. The Protege (170hp 155tq)runs a 15.4 1/4m@93mph at 6.6psi, the SRT-4 (215hp 245tq) runs a 14.2 1/4m@102mph at 14psi, and the MSProtege has stock Protege internals so turning up the boost isn't so easy.

The Protege allows its driver to out-brake and out-grip an SRT-4 driver, which makes for an interesting contest on shorter road circuits.

To be honest, I think anything with FWD [and a turbo] sucks, regardless if it's American or Japanese.
