Toyota in 2004? - Was browsing, found this:
The Link HERE:
Toyota in 2004
As I was saying last week, my dad went out to a meeting in CA for all future models. He called me, and here's the rundown...
Avalon: Look for the car to be between the current car and a Crown Vic in size, 275-280HP from the new V6, Standard 17"ers maybe optional 18"s, dual exhaust, Sport suspension models avail., even more luxurious than the current model, Prices should be around $33K to $37K.
Camry: New SE Package with everything I said it would have: 17"s, Dual exhaust, even tighter suspension, 6 speed, wide use of TRD components, the exact 245HP V6 I said it would have, yadda yadda yadda...
Corolla- Looking to add a high performance version with around 200HP. 17"s, dual exhaust, different body kit, 6 speed, Sport suspension, Wider use of TRD parts, ect.
Pruis All new next year, longer, wider, more powerful and more stylish.
Echo All new, more stylish and more powerful in '05.
Solara DAMN. A lot to talk about here...The front has the same angular, sleek headlights as the Camry, ES300 and Celica. The rear is sort of SC430, functional hood scoop, side profile is VERY Angular and sleek, 260HP, 6 speed manual, 17"ers with optional 18S, Euro tuned Suspensions, more use of TRD parts, Dual exhaust, sportier interiors, bigger, a REAL sportscar this time...
Matrix-Not too much is new, except for the engine. The Matrix,
Celica and Corolla are planning to use the Same new I4 with around 200 HP and around 180 LB-ft of torque.
Celica See above
Spyder Turbo model is in the works, grows slightly for '05 (more room and lots more power, even in the base engine), ect.
Tundra: F250 hunting this time around. The Standard Tundra moves to 280HP with the availability of 4 real doors. The bed will stay the same size as the current one, even for the 4door model, the HD Tundra gets a 5.4 litre V8 with more than 350HP and more than 450 LB-Ft of torque, few changes here and there...
Sequoia 280HP standard, new interior, new tail lights, new grille and headlights...not much else for a while
4Runner SR5 is just ugly, Limited is absolutely Kickass and looks to turn it's class upside down. Yes, V8 and V6, no 3rd row, functional hoodscoop, a real truck, even more offroad Capable than last time.
Highlander For '05 it turns into more of Camry wagon really with around 235 HP and a few enhancements.
Rav4 Should share a newer, torquier I4 with the Highlander.
LandCruiser Completely new in '05, 250 HP, more much else about it now...
*Supra*. Dad asked and the Execs just smiled, he asked if it would have a standard V6 and optional V8 and they laughed a little...definitely something happening here that they don't want to talk about.
V10 Supercar...yep, it's coming...
Probably a few things I'm forgetting, so just ask if you have any questions!

Appears to be a kid talking out of his ass. The day I see a 245HP Camry is the day hell freezes over, because there is absolutely no need for them to do that.
Sounds an awful lot like copperhead...

Also, see the ads for the 2003 Altima? It's 245hp now. I could have sworn H/N fan posted something saying it was 250hp. Rumor has it next week the Altima will have 255hp

Too many big game changes and updates at once. Most automobile manufacturer would make a big update to two or three models per year.
BTW, a sporty Avalon is an oxymoron.
BTW again, a 2 door Camry will never be a "REAL sportscar".

its sounds too good to be true for me too, but ive heard from more than a few people who attended that Toyota conference, with all the same info.... so we'll see.
And to the thing about all at once model changing.... it says in all those facts that things will be released at different times for all those models, so i dunno.
