C&D $35,000 Sports Coupe Comparo
The S2000 only narrowingly beat out the Mustang because the Mustang has gobs of power to compensate on straight-aways to make up lost time. The 350Z beat both the S2000 and the Mustang because it handles well and has low end torque.
The S2000 seemed to be slower than usual...maybe they didn't beat the **** out of it like you're supposed to in order to get sub-6 second 0-60mph times. And I'm surprised that they rated it an 8 in build quality, most of them (sans early 2000 ones) had excellent build quality.
Then again, the TT and the rest of Audi does make other manufacturer's seem a little spotty in the fit and finish department. Too bad Audi will never meet the mechanical prowess or quality of the Japanese. :fawk:

You guys are all idiots. That's right. Idiots.
C&D has a very specific and hightech way of testing their cars. They didn't pull those 1/4 mile times out of their asses. First off, the test drivers do not "launch" their cars. This is due to the fact that launching is a driver's game, and has nothing to do with the car. They want to test the car's performance, not the driver's, so they don't ever launch a car. They also don't want to break their test cars. Their 1/4 mile times are averaged from many runs with different drivers and their 1/4 mile times are also adjusted accordingly for temperature, altitude, etc. You would be surprised at the sort of technology they use in their tests; for example, all of their tests are measured via satellite GPS.
I hate it when some dumbass rants on about how magazine editors can't drive or how their test numbers are bull****. C'mon people, these magazine guys test cars for a living! They know what they're doing!
Fuck off.

Stop being such a whiny baby. Last time I checked, the forum is for open discussion, with people's opinions. You want to throw an asshole attitude around, do it somewhere else.

No need to throw a tantrum. You probably didn't notice while in your hysteria, but not everybody "deeply offended you" by *****ing about times. Yianni was namely referring to the S2000's time of 6.3 seconds...the "miracle" computer doesn't account for the 369 miles on the odometer. So good for you, you read Car & Driver and learned about their $10,000 computer they use to test their numbers.
