Spy Shots of BMW's 6-Series Cabriolet
The pictures refuse to load here, so you'll have to go to http://www.thecarconnection.com/inde...56,178&sid=178 to get them.
We've seen many pictures of BMW’s future 6-Series coupe, but this is apparently the first time BMW’s convertible has been caught in public.
The 6-Series, a sophisticated mix of 5- and 7-Series components into a proper four-seater, will be officially introduced in Coupe styling at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. The Cabrio, shown here, will debut a year later, also in Geneva.
Codenamed E64, the all-new 6-Series convertible will likely be powered by a series of V-8s including a 272-hp 3.5-liter engine, with other options including a 333-hp 4.4-liter V-8, and a 231-hp 3.0-liter six to follow. We also expect the convertible to be equipped with a traditional canvas top – power operated, of course. An updated and improved iDrive system, passive and active safety features borrowed from the 3-Series convertible and more passenger room than the Audi A4 Cabriolet and Mercedes CLK convertible round out the highlights.
Pricing for the BMW 6-Series convertible is expected to start around $47,000 when they arrive for the 2005 model year.

The overall shape looks pretty clean, but there's too much cladding to judge what the thing actually looks like.
I personally like the new 7, and while the Z4 looks odd it's still proportioned right (well, aside from the front overhang).

HA! My friend Kevin Bailie took those pictures!
Anyways two

47K for that thing?
.......Until it's shown fully nekkid I'll try to be less opinionated on the Bangle led design "shockingly different" theme. But from seeing the 745, the Z4 and a few shots of the 5
I applaud any car company for taking calculated risks... but did they haveto go with these new designs!? :slap:

Ok, explain something to me.........I thought that the even numbered cars would come with two doors, and the odd numbered cars would become the four doors.......so that the 6 series were coupes based off of the five series sedan.. . . the Z8 was the coupe to compliment the 7 series (kinda)....
I dont know where I got all of that from, but does this mean that there will be five different series of four door BMW's????! 1,3,5,6,7????
That seems like overkill to me

The odd series BMWs are the mainstays...the 3, 5, 7 etc.
The even series are limited production models released at certain times. I believe there have only been 6's and 8's for that.
The new 1 series is going to be a lower priced, smaller than the 3 series, 4 cyl entry level BMW to get more and more young people into the brand. It is going to be designed for people just out of college, with a good job but high bills and college loans.
Remeber the 3 series has the coupe and convertible.
