Honda increases Civic production
#2
Honda is actually having growing pains as the Civic is sitting on a 10 day supply (pretty good for a 250k+ annual sales volume) and the Fit can't be made fast enough. The Fit is simply the best car in its class but Honda just doesn't have the capacity to get them out faster.

I think there is a good chance Honda may just stop importing the Fit for the North American market (given that demand in Asia is still very strong for this vehicle) and not sell the Fit in the USA until the Greensburg, IN plant comes online in 2008 to sell the next-generation model for the North American market.
It could also mean that Honda may expand their Alliston, ON, East Liberty, OH and Marysville, OH production capacity to build even more Civics.

can't see them not selling FIT's in North America. It's the #1 rival to the Toyota Yaris model and I just can't seee letting that kind of business walk away. Me-thinks they will just up imports until they can ramp up North America production.

Honda won't pull the Fit out b/c that would be embarassing as the car is selling like mad...Honda just didn't have the production capacity to make as many...the Yaris is selling well b/c Toyota has the factory output to get them to the dealers
