1MZ News- Hopefully Not just a Rumor
The next Toyota sports car will use the ES300 (1MZ-FE) engine bored out to 3.5L with output around 280hp.
Now nobody's gonna say that the 1MZ has no potential and Toyota has already dropped the plans on tuning it.
Read this in this month's Road&Track.

There is a guy named James that has visited CMPL who claimed that he assembles Camrys at the Kentucky plant and that the new V6 will have 265-HP. We'll just have to wait and see.
Read another article in Hong Kong Car&Driver...
The redesigned 2003/4 Toyota Aristo (eq Lexus GS) will use a V6 motor instead of the I6. It will be 3.5L and whether it will be FI or NA is unanswered.
Smells like they're using 1MZ on it too since there aren't any modern V6 motor that Toyota uses!!!!!
Next year's Echo will have a 1.5L TURBO pushing 150hp in Japan.
Once again, these are "rumors" meaning they arent confirmed.

I wouldn't see why not though. The supra will supposed to battle w/ the 350Z and having the 3.5L V6 w/ 280HP will pretty much match the Z HP. Next year, the ES, Camry V6 will be bump up to 3.3L anyways, i doubt it'll be much harder to get another .2L in there. With some tuning and 280HP isn't too hard to attain.

The Supra used to battle with the 300ZX, so it going head to head with the 350Z makes sense. Now you might be confusing the V10 halo car with the Supra. Maybe thatll be called Supra. Who cares, I'll beleive it when I see it.
