Yeah, the TL is not in the same class as the GS.

Seriously: www.vtec.net, you'll find a lot of like minded people there.

no, you don't sound mean, you sound like an idiot who's contradicting him/herself.

first of all, you're right when you say that more horsepower doesn't equal "faster". so why do you keep saying that the faster vehicle is "more powerful"? track times and HP are completely different measurements.

secondly, you quoted the GS350 RWD and AWD as going from 0-60 in 5.7 and 5.8 seconds respectively. then you quoted the TL type-S as going from 0-60 in 6.3 seconds.

6.3 seconds is slower than 5.8 and 5.7 seconds

 :chuckles: :lmao: :lmfao:

Yea the regular TL is slower (6.3 Seconds), the Type S will be even faster and probably faster than the Lexus.

Man, what are you smoking, I wanna try. TL-S will have 30HP more than the regular TL and you want it to be 1/2 a sec faster to 60? Also, why are you comparing the TL to the GS? RL is more like it. How fast is the RL to 60? TL-S should be compared to the IS350, which does 1/4 mile around 13.7s.

why don't we wait and see what the 0-60 time actually is, instead of jumping to conclusions and spewing stupid, unfounded crap like acura is faster, mmmk?

you originally proclaimed that acura is more powerful - which acura?. there is no acura that is has more than 303 HP, and no: "faster" does not mean "more powerful" :chuckles:. the closest sedan, the RL, has less power and isn't as efficient. are you possibly going to dispute that?

how the hell am i hating on acura? i'm stating facts without any trace of subjective opinion - facts published by honda/acura, that you can't seem to get through your incredibly dense skull. toyota makes some cars that are more powerful, more fuel efficient, have more torque, and/or are "faster" than honda. wah. too bad. get over it. honda will continue to make good cars, and sell plenty of them.

I'm sorry, but the TL should be compared to the GS, not IS. RL is suposed to compete with LS, and the only thing competing with IS is TSX.

at one time, i would have agreed with you. but the RL doesn't really compete with the LS. the LS starts at $8000 more, and is bigger. the outgoing model is 4" longer, so i don't know how big the new LS will be. while the RL is acura's flagship, it's meant to compete with the likes of the GS, 5-series, E-class, etc. Honda said as much when the new RL debuted. the LS is meant to be more inline with the S-class and 7 series.

the price of the TL brings it into competition with the IS, 3-series, etc. in my opinion, it crosses over the gap and also competes with the GS/5-series/E-class. but there are hardly any comparisons between these cars, and this is how most people see it.

Well, I agree that it doesn't compete with the LS as far as the pricing goes, but it is luxury oriented and intended for the same buyer as the LS.

Again, pricewise the TL is inline with 3 series and IS, but its much bigger and less sportier - its very much alike the GS, ES, 5 Series and E class. This is why it is selling like hotcakes - because it is significantly cheaper than all of the above and comparable in every other way.

nope, Honda intended it to be considered by the same buyer as the E-class, 5 series, Audi A6, and Lexus GS.

Key 6-cylinder competitors in the RL segment include the BMW 530i, Audi A6, 3.2 Lexus GS 300, and Mercedes-Benz E350. With its SH-AWD system as standard equipment, the RL has a distinct advantage over each of them.

TL interior volume is the same as the G35, 98 cu.ft.. So by your logic, the G35 is also competing w/ the GS,5 Series, and E-class too? However, the GS has interior volume of 110 cu.ft., which is larger than the difference between TL/G35 and the IS350. Also, the RL has interior volume of 99 cu.ft., does that mean G35x compete w/ RL as well? People usually cross shop in price and class, not size, or else the Accord/Camry/Altima will be competing w/ GS/5-series/E-class too.
