Default New smaller Nissan Suv in 07?

TOKYO — Encouraged by its highly successful Murano SUV, which came on the market in 2003 in the United States and in 2004 in Europe, Nissan is now developing a sister model for the smaller end of the SUV model range.

It doesn't look half bad. Certainly better than the new RAV4.
I kinda wonder about blind spot visibility, though.. that D-pillar is rather huge. :run:

The wheels are nicely done. I'd like to see that rim design offered on the new Sentra, in fact.
With the RAV4 making a V6 available, I'd expect Nissan to follow suit.

At least it's a reasonable size.

My guess is that this new smaller SUV will be based off the same platform used on the 2007 Nissan Sentra. The likely engine will be a 2.5-liter version of the 2007 Sentra's engine, and it's VERY likely we'll see this new small SUV use a CVT automatic like the Murano, too.
