I guess Subaru is sticking to their schedule of doing a facelift every two years for the Impreza, with early model year introductions. The 2003 came out in spring 2002, the 2005 came out in spring 2004, so I guess the 2007 will come out in spring 2006.

 

headlights should stay around, but i dont like anything else they've done.. also they really need to tone down the wing a little, offer the big one as a dealer option...

 

I'm pretty sure this is the 06 Impreza facelift, since the next gen Impreza is scheduled for 07.

I'm pretty much relieved at most of the changes. The grille is still awful, but more tastefully done than some of the concepts. I'm not liking the revised headlamps although most people will probably disagree with me. The foglamps look good integrated into the bumper. The taillights are really bad - half clear-cornered looks strange and awkward. The switch from Subaru lettering to the Subaru badge is a nice touch though. Pretty sure everything else about the car stayed the same, especially since the interior was just remodeled for 05.

I'm glad I got my WRX in MY05 vs MY06. Even a tasteful rendition of the new grille is still ugly.

 

Well, the big wing is only standard on the STi and will likely be a dealer option for the TR (Tuner Ready Edition). Given what limited numbers the STi sells in, I don't think it's too big a deal - especially since many STi buyers probably want the wing (most STi's I've seen have the wing) and the ones who don't likely don't want badges and stuff either and will shave the entire rear end.

 

Criminally ugly. An absolute abomination. :ugh:
I'd take a "bugeye" GD8 over that thing any day of the week.

another refresh?? why? are impreza sales that bad? if it's only going to be around another year - with a complete redesign in 2007 - such a drastic refresh doesn't make a lot of sense...

that's the STI wing, which only comes with the sti. it's not even an option for the rest of the impreza models. i'm sure they'll keep it that way with the refresh.

but the sti wing is well, a lil crazy, i was saying they should make it an option and make a smaller wing that is less... big

 

i don't see a problem. looks better than before.
