thats not a vanilla Jetta, last year's 1.8T GLI MSRP was $24,070 so its actually a better deal if you can deal with the Corolla look.

What a ridiculous price for a Jetta. I'd like to know what VW's plan is because I don't see anybody dropping down $30k on a Jetta...it just doesn't have the space or the panache that a small BMW, Acura or Audi would.

Every other manufacturer is moving downmarket to target lower price brackets, and freakin VW is moving everything up...unbelievable.

It's all grown up, sort off, so they have to charge you more.

For that price a Volvo s40 T5 is a way better alternative.

Actually, the price is not bad considering how much an Acura TSX costs nowadays. But I still prefer the TSX for its better build quality and less complex engine (Honda's K24 with i-VTEC on the TSX is vastly less complex than VW's new FSI 2.0 turbo engine).
