Default Why bother.

Especially when you can get a Honda Accord LX with the 160 bhp 2.4-liter I-4 engine with a five-speed automatic instead and get decent performance and 24 mpg city, 34 mpg highway fuel economy for less money than what Chevrolet wants for the Malibu SS.

Because presumably the individual shopping for the Malibu SS wants some performance in their family sedan, and just because a four-cylinder Accord has one more gear in its transmission doesn't mean it's gonna keep up with a car that has 80 more horsepower. Now if you were making some kind of comparison to the Accord V6, perhaps you'd have more of a point.

it may only have 240 horse, but i'm sure it comes on quick and is loaded with torque to please those with an itching right foot... it's an american car from the inside out, it's just not the thing most ppl on boards like this will enjoy...

That new Malibu is some cut(garbage).Only true Chevy is a Vette other than the ram air Camaro SS .Unless you go back to the Muscle Car days with the Chevelle SS 454 big block. I use to work for Chevy. Corsica were garbage also. The only 2 things I can say about the SS Malibu is the color & wheels. I wouldn't have either waisted my time posting a Chevy up on a Honda/Acura site. Hollar

I feel its light years behind the competition, nice try Chevy but not nice enough. To make this car worth while it needs atleast 260 HP and a 5 speed auto.
