Scion t2B concept to be shown at New York
A new press release popped up on the wires today:
Scion, from Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will unveil an all-new concept vehicle at a press conference at the 2005 New York International Auto Show.
This all-new concept, known as t2B, reflects Scion's key product philosophies of style, versatility and surprise. It encompasses bold exterior styling, innovative features, and a passenger-friendly interior, all packaged with Scion's requisite fun-to-drive factor.
The Scion press conference will be held on Thursday, March 24 in the Special Events Hall downstairs in the Javits Convention Center at 8:30 am EST.

Now I'm guessing that this is gonna be some kind of coupe. Just because the two Scion models starting with 'x' are 5-doors, and the tC is a coupe. So who knows. The release is suitably vague I guess we'll just have to wait until the 24th.

From the name it sounds like xb, second version, but more like t(c). It says bold exterior so more closer to xb, or variations of it? I am going to the autoshow anyway so we'll see.
I just hope that toyota can keep the scion thing true to its beginning (cheap) and not end up with over priced gadgets like the celica and mr2.

Elsewhere I have seen speculation that it would be a 4 door sedan. If so, might it be the Allion?

I guess the Allion would sort of work as a Scion since it's kind of funky looking, but who knows. The tC was developed specifically for the US market and is not sold as a Toyota anywhere else, so I'm sort of inclined to think that the t2B will also be a Scion-exclusive car.
Or maybe, it'll be one of Toyota's several JDM-only mini-minivans, sort of along the lines of the Mazda5? Who knows?
