Exactly. Which is why this coupe would need to be priced near the G35C, yet outperform it in handling, acceleration and quality. The only way that's going to happen is if the coupe is RWD.

An RL coupe for $35k? That's pretty wishful thinking. I don't even think Honda/Acura could get away with a TL coupe for that little.

Then for a "new" RL coupe, shorten the new Legend/RL platform and get to work.
I really miss the last-gen Legend Coupe; with it's long hood and short rear deck, it had perfect lines.

So I'd want the new RL coupe to be RWD with a 6spd manual, with the 3.5L V6 tucked as far back behind the front axle as possible. Keep weight under 3100 lbs and the price around $33-35K.

As much as I like my Integra, I think that the RSX is rather dead. A TSX Coupe would be nice, but one wonders how it would go in the market. A $40Kish AWD TL-based, or RWD, true midlux coupe would work wonders for Acura. I'd be happy if we got something like that to aspire to, as well as a new Prelude.

Unfortunately, I don't see a new Honda-badged coupe coming out that isn't called "Accord" or "Civic." Honda does do a lot of two-door cars compared to other guys. VW doesn't do any real coupes (New Beetle isn't a coupe, it's a fugly bubble).

Thanks to Mike for starting the thread, and MtViewGuy and HelmetHead for chiming in.
I'm sorry I haven't been around so much; Acurazine takes up a lot of my time. :chuckles: And as you might expect, they give the Integra/RSX no respect over there.

I think the RSX works now for funneling people into Acura, but at 20K units a year, that's not really all that much.

the rsx is seling well enough for right now, but is say:

Kill the RSX in 5 years
Modify the body to be slightly more angular, update the engine to 2010
Rebage as Honda Civic CRX 4/5 seater, and/or remove the backseat and call it the 25th aniversary edition

.... offer a hybrid model for those that want gas mileage.

i agree with most of whats been said
but i still think the coupe version of the TSX will be more thank likely, and i hope Honda doesn't kill the RSX altogther, but rather debadge it or Acura and sell it to us as a Honda Integra....like it should have been since 2002

You would not see the Integra under the Honda brand/nameplate. It belongs to the history of the Acura brand (in North America).
