Nah, the A8 is a way better car than the Phaeton. They're both big huge luxobarges, but the A8 with its aluminum construction manages to weigh a merely portly 4288 lbs to the Phaeton's gargantuan 5194 lbs.

ive only seen 1 phaeton around here, and 2 a8Ls.. i would go with the a8 any day

Neighbors in Michigan have a Phaeton for a while (he works for VW NA).
I've seen them in the Ann Arbor area as well.

IMO all of the VW's and Audis could be categorized as "preppy chick cars". They suck.

Couldnt have said it better. Bernd Pshchehesomethingorother, the head of VW, apparently made a remark to the effect that the Phaeton was a mistake. This was Ferdinand Peich's pet project that he was determined to push through, in response to the MB A-Class
