I thought why not post a link.....
Ridgeline - Demo.
This thing may be a little too different. But it'll be nice to see some trucks with the H rollin around.

The truck itself is hideous, it looks worse than the Avalance if that is possible.
What is wrong with real trucks? I hate this crossover crap.

I don't really care for crossovers either but I'm not in the market for something like that. I really don't think this Honda even touches the hideousness of the Avalanche. :ugh: The whole split headlight concept that Chevy has had since forever is one of the biggest visual cacophonies I can think of. Reminds me of the car from the movie Vacation.

i think it would have looked better.. if it was visually similar to the pilot.. This thing reminds me more of the element.. not to mention the interior.

The interior pics are of the SUT concept, not the Ridgeline.

I think at the very least the interior will be more conventional in appearance than the wacky concept version.

And what's weird about open shelves? That's one way to break up the monotony of a hugely tall dash which is necessitated by the design of the body. Even the Civic Si has shelves like that.

I thought you were mainly talking about the all rubber floor as reminding you of the Element.

American Honda Motor Co. Inc. will use the Super Bowl to launch its mid-sized pickup.

Tom Peyton, Honda's senior manager of national advertising, calls the Feb. 6 National Football League championship game "the perfect platform to really launch that truck and get it exposed for the first time.

"We have spots in locations that we think are going to give us the best opportunity," Peyton says. "And the NFL continues to be a hot property, so we're very optimistic."

The Ridgeline is Honda's first pickup. It is scheduled to arrive in dealerships in early March. Honda has not revealed pricing.

Honda bought two 30-second spots on Fox. One commercial will air between the first and second quarters, the other in the third quarter.

Peyton declined to say how much the automaker is paying for commercial time. A source close to Fox says the average price for a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl is $2.4 million.

Honda ran a commercial for its Pilot SUV during the second half of the 2004 Super Bowl, which attracted nearly 90 million TV viewers in the United States. That spot, Peyton says, cost "a lot of money. It really underscores how big a launch the Ridgeline is for us and shows why you don't do a lot of launches on the Super Bowl. But the timing and medium are right to launch this product."

Analysts warn that the Honda spots must be distinctive. Many marketers open campaigns during the Super Bowl, they say, and a commercial that does not stand out gets lost among the competition.

"You get super-high standards, so you would like to have a breakthrough ad," says Doug Scott, an analyst at NOP Automotive Marketing Research in Southfield, Mich.

Scott speculates that Honda will use the Ridgeline commercials to promote innovation among the automaker's full product line. But Peyton insists the commercials will solely introduce the pickup and will not advertise other Honda models.

"We are known as the Accord and Civic company," Peyton says. "Part of the assignment here is to let the world know that Honda has its first pickup truck."

The campaign will have a Web component, Peyton says. The Ridgeline debut also involves special training and local marketing materials for dealers.

"Bottom line: Ford has trucks; this is Honda's first truck," Peyton says. "We'll duke it out with everyone else. Hopefully our creative process will have more impact than theirs does."

Honda doesn't normally do flashy advertising, but they usually don't do, umm, "trucks" either.
