I honestly don't know what to make of it.

I don't like it but then I don't hate it.

There is also a rumors from a reliable source that there will be a ///M2 with 300hp or so. (I-6) I'm not completely sure on the name M2. since the 2 and 4 series naming was killed.

Note the iDrive, start stop button and the weirdish looking key. Looks like it's one of those credit card types... but i'm not 100%sure.

I can't get used to to the back, but the front is clearly a derivative of BMW DNA. The front aero bumper looks strikingly similar to the front bumper treatment a la house of AMG. It's hard to tell the interior quality from the pics, but the overall design seems to be a hand down from its much pricier siblings.

I didn't like the 1-series at first, but it is growing on me. Do I see a six-speed pattern on the top of that shifter?

 

The M Aero kit looks good, now if only M will do something about those weaksauce 4 cylinders.

Apparently, Canada will be getting these cars, so Ill be able to do a driving impression eventually

 

I like it, one of the first affordable BMW that doesn't look like a hacked and/or watered down 3-series. I'd sport it

 

Why do manufacturers insist on producing 5-door hatchbacks anymore. 3-door roXors the 5-doors. DAMN! I wish they didn't do that.

not to worry the new 3.0L engine that I posted while back was engineered to fit in the 1-series engine bay that's 265hp

 

no 2 series or 4 series.

BMW decided not to use those names.

So US will get the 1 series, 3dr, hatch, and sedan...possibly a coupe version as well..
