Chris Bangle is from north east Ohio, and our Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper just did a bio on him in the Sunday driving section. Throughout the interview, he really shows his arrogance and snobbery when pressed with the questions of polarizing style applied to great cars. He says that critics are not the consumer, and that people will appreciate the aggressive styling he's applied to such great performing cars. The question was also pressed as to how long he's got left at BMW, since there is a new person working with him on the big projects...... he said he's not going anywhere.
I'd personally like to kick his butt out the door and on to the street. BMWs are the finest cars on the road, if you don't have to open your eyes.
i-Drive and that swoopy headlamp and taillamp treatment, combined with the frumpy deck lids on the 5 and 7 series just make me want to smack Chris upside the head.

while imho it doesn't look as classy as the E39 M5, I like the E60 M5. very very much.

I love the new design from BMW. All except the trunk lid of the 6 series. This one looks better than all the one before it. Exterior wise, there's absolutely nothing wrong w/ it. Interior nice but not as nice as the exterior.

As for the interior comment. what are you comparing the ///M5 interior to? The lower models such as the 525i get different (lower) quality interior pieces than the top models.
So unless you've looked at the production ///M5 interior I would guess you're basing your opinion on the lower model 5series.

As far as the reply from another member on the SMG, please read carefully first. It's confusing *due to the number of different modes.* From a marketing standpoint it's a great way to show the company's techno tour de force, but for those who want to unleash every single drop of juice the drivetrain has to offer, they will flick to the sportiest mode. W = Wife, S = Standard, R = Race would be simple enough.
P400/P500? For those who have the cash and their intention to buy this car, gas mileage is hardly a consideration.
So you would ask - What's your point? Keep it simple like the last M5 thank you very much.

i know many people that can afford a car like this and they still care about having to fill up less.
i dont see how these extras detract from the driving experience. just leave it in S6 and P500 and forget it.
IMO, having 11 different gear settings and P4/500 is a smart thing to do... you cater to everyone's taste with one car.
