I went to China last year to visit relatives and I saw many Accords on the streets, but still a lot more VWs and Buicks though. Honda does have a presence there.

Check out this website....it talks about Honda cars produced and sold in China.

VW makes Passats and Polos (not for sale in the US) in China. I do believe that some Jettas and Golfs may be manufactured there as well. VW and GM (Buick) rule the streets mostly, but Honda and Mazda are also gaining popularity.

On a side note, just got back from Macau and I would say 1 out of 5 vehicles there is riced out...pretty weird.

LOL I was in Guang Zhou 1 month ago. Yeah VW is like GM in there. One of every two cars is VW Mk2 or Mk3 Jettas and Sontanas. However only Taxi company and really low rent government officials use them cause even Chinese can tell they are sadly outdated cars. Are you Guang Zhounese? Drop me a note.

Guang Zhou is still a very poor area, despite some new development. If you go to the major cities you will see a lot more modern cars. Around Shanghai I saw more BMW 5-series than I ever have in the States. And there all the taxis (or 90%) are the newest model Passats.
