The greenhouse looks good although the beltline is too high and there's not enough glass. There's also sufficient distance between the edge of the front door and the front wheels to indicate the rwd layout of the car. The front end even looks sort of interesting.

My main issue is the trunk, rear fenders, and how they interact.

It wont suprise me if it stickers for 100k. That's just crazy imho. They took a page out of MB's book as far as pricing the coupe a lot more than the sedan, and i wonder if it'll work well for them.

Yeah...same car too, pretty much. The difference is the MB's coupe is a lot prettier than the sedan. Opposite for the BMWs, although I do like the Six.

The CLK is actually based mostly on the C-class platform and stickers for a bit less than the E-class. Road & Track has a comparo between the 645Ci and the CLK500 in its most recent issue and with comparable options the 645Ci was over $10k more than the CLK500.

Unless of course, you guys were referring to the CL- and S-class.

Yeah, we meant CL- and S-Class.

I guess the 4 will fight the CLK?

Oh, see the 6-series is based on the 5-series, not the 7. So technically an M6 would be a more expensive coupe version of the M5.

The only 4-series that would potentially have a V8 is the M4.

On a sort of related note, the CLK55 AMG stickers within 700 bucks of the 645Ci.

Exactly. Just like the CLK and C-Class, and the CL and S-Class pricing. The coupe version just cost a lot more. Used to be they cost the same, like they should.

The CLK55AMG only has like 20hp more right? Still using the old N/A motor right?

It has 362 hp instead of 302 hp in the CLK500, with only 50 lbs of added weight according to Mercedes. I hate to magazine race but in the R&T comparo of the 645Ci and CLK500 they were in an almost dead heat in a straight line so the CLK55 AMG should dust off the 645Ci pretty nicely.
