Hummer H2 Fad Over - Cause for Concern at GM
Has Hummer Lost Its Groove?
General Motors may have reason to be concerned with sales of the $50,000 Hummer H2, now that sales of the massive SUV have dropped for the sixth month in a row when compared to the prior year's results. In February, Reuters reports, sales of the H2 fell by 21 percent, even though GM offered 48-month leases without a down payment or deposit. The vehicle, which made its debut in 2002 and is based loosely on GM's full-size truck architecture, currently runs at a 52-day supply through the GM pipeline, a little better than the average vehicle. Hummer spokesman Pete Ternes told the news agency that sales of the Hummer could slip below 30,000 vehicles a year and GM still would make money on the project. GM owns the Hummer brand and builds the H2 in Mishawaka, Ind. A new $35,000 Hummer H3 is due in 2005, based on the small-truck architecture that has spawned the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon.

there was a guy in dc driving an suv who hit a guy changing a tire on the side of the road...said he didn't notice anything or hitting anyone just a small bump...well he heard some rubbing sound to pull over and find the guy he hit stuck in his front suspension and wheel well (guy was dead)

And some SUV drivers actually think the higher seating makes them see better.
Whenver I see a H2 I race it (as long as there aren't too many cars on road) to prove how crappy this gas-guzzler is.

There was an accident not too far from me that involved an H2 and a Mustang GT not too long ago. The poor girl in the Mustang was rushed to the hospital (don't know what happened to her), and the Hummer had a damaged front skid plate and a scruffed up bumper. The Mustang was obviously totaled. I just felt so bad. Those bulbus tanks might as well be Freightliner semi trucks.
I was at the grocers today and the parking lot was full except for the 2 parking spaces one on each side of this yellow H2 that was parked line to line in its space. Even if someone could squeeze into one of those spaces next to the H2, they surely will not be able to get out of their car.
