Well, for one thing, that's not even a near production car. All talk and no play equals weaksauce.

On a completely unrelated note....Do you guys think that the platform for the next nsx will be used in other applications so they can bring the price down?

probably not, but then an interesting thought comes to mind: what if they drop the hand built shit, and use the current nsx platform for lets say next gen CL-s? for around 40k with 290hp and nsx suspension it would own.

Sure the internal combustion engine portion of the drivetrain is normally aspirated, but it's not doing all of the work.

Um yeah, let's not derail my thread with completely unrelated notes. :slap:

Yeah, because that's even close to possible :slap: a mid engine aluminum CL Type-S...brilliant idea.

Hybrid would be better in a more mass market car. People that can afford very expensive cars dont care about mileage as much as the avg joe. Cool idea, but to someone with 150K to blow, performance and image matters more, in my opnion.

Well for one we have no idea if Toyota actually plans on selling the thing. Even if they do, it would be more of an image car than something they'd try and profit from. Honda originally did the same thing with the NSX when it came out. It was a "hey look what we can do" car that increased the overall value of both the Acura and Honda brands. Ford is doing the same thing with the GT. These companies are all so huge that you can really consider any one of these vehicles as part of their marketing budget.

Its weird though cause the seating for three is in a row and not like the Mclaren F1 where the middle seat(driver) is a bit more forward than the side seats. Wasn't there a rumor a while ago that Toyota might bring in a supercar maybe this is one of the design exercises.

Having seen the second set of pics, I am very happy to see that ItalDesign can help a firm like Toyota.... a firm that direly needs all the design help it can get. h:

While it's clear that this particular car will most likely remain a concept, it is refreshing to see fuel economy and performance integrate so well. I'm excited about the future of Japanese sports cars, and I eagerly await a production model using the technology shown in the Volta.

Oh, and Guigiaro is a master..perhaps the master of automotive design.
