Default Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6

It should — this is the same engine found in AMG-badged Mercedes-Benz vehicles, although the SRT-6 makes do with nineteen fewer horsepower. Since the Crossfire is heavily based off of the Mercedes-Benz SLK, the powerplant is a natural fit, as is the five-speed automatic transmission. Slushbox notwithstanding, the SRT-6 will be good for 0-60 times in the low five second range.

Open-air enthusiasts will be glad to know that the SRT-6 also comes in convertible form. The only major difference is slightly softer springs in the topless model, although the spings in both SRT-6 cars are about 50 percent stiffer than in the normal Crossfire.

Other items exclusive to the SRT-6 are a fixed rear spoiler, front chin spoiler, larger brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport tires on 15-spoke wheels, a 200 mph speedometer, and race-inspired seats. Expect the SRT-6 in dealerships in the second half of 2004.

I like the specs. We'll see how it performs in the real world tests I would guess similar to the C32 :chuckles:

I'd say it performs more like the SLK32.

I kinda dig the way it looks as a convertible (hey, maybe because it started out as one) but I think if I were to buy a roadster I would have a serious desire for a manual transmission. Most people that buy em nowadays are just posers though so it probably won't be much of an issue.

I also question whether or not it's the best idea to use the SRT nameplate on both Dodge and Chrysler products. It couldn't have been so hard to think up some other badge to stick on PVO Chryslers. For example...PVO.

I personally do not like most of Chryslers stuff but I will say that the normal Crossfire (currently available) & Crossfire SRT-6 (available soon) grab my attention but still have some time to go before I can believe this car is any better than previous Chrysler cars.

Just my opinion.

Well, underneath it's actually a Mercedes SLK and not a Chrysler.

I think it looks like ass. The coupe especially, but the spoiler doesn't do much for either version. Never was a fan of the rear anyway.

It needs a not 10-year old chassis. Kinda of a dumb comment on my part, but I laughed when I thought about it cause I'm a retard like that.

Anyway, I think the Crossfire is OK but nothing too special. I'd rather have an S2000 or RX-8 or maybe both, depending on what the SRT costs...
