Why would Mazda bring out that MX-Sport thing as a production model when they just came out with the 3 5-door? The concept version of the 3 was called the MX-Sportif.

Maybe it's a smaller, sub-3 model?

The MX-Sport Concept looks more like an SUV, more of a CRV or RAV4 than a 5-door hatchback. And I think its probably bigger interior-wise than the 3 5-door, but maybe not as long.

In the history of bad ideas, Saturn is one of the worst. Why does GM insist on injecting concepts into a frivilous division?

If you think about it, Saturn is no different in concept than Scion is. The main difference of course is in the execution, but the idea itself wasn't necessarily a bad one. The reason Saturn sucks so much is because they came out with one product in 1991, and sold essentially the same thing until 2002 and added a couple of ill-conceived other models to the lineup that weren't really attractive either.

Look at the buzz surrounding Scion. The xA and xB appeal to the sort of non car-types and the tC is getting people like myself interested in the brand. As long as they keep the lineup fresh it should be a success. Of course, Toyota is an amazingly well managed car company and GM is not ansd therein lies the cause of the disparity.

I agree completey, GM stumbled with Saturn. While Saturn wasn't a youth-oriented brand like Scion is, it was meant to fight imports such as Toyota, Honda, and Nissan by offering unconventional products that might not fit with GM's exisiting brands. Its two main selling points, plastic panels and no haggle pricing, had nothing really to do with the overall product which is why its enjoyed limited success. It doesn't help that the new products it has brought out were mediocre at best and offered nothing unique. At least Scion has some fresh product thats interesting and innovative, and inexpensive without resorting to being cheap.

saw the Tc in person and it's quite the bland and just a mixture of features from other companies.

me and friends sat at the Tc booth and pointed out the features from other makes.
