Ford did a really nice job, surprisingly. They seem to know how to do a retro design, both the GT40 and new Mustang came out beautiful.

The front end is hideous. I can't see how it would appeal to anyone but 50 yr. old men nostalgic about the past. However, the overall profile of the car isn't bad, and the interior is pretty good assuming thats real metal there and not some brushed plastic. The new V6 engine is weak sauce, but the V8 isn't bad for the price.

I'm 21 and I like old cars. I think it looks pretty good.

There are two design elements that I think could have been done better. The rear 1/4 windows seem to be too small and surrounded by a lot of metal. That was not the case on the original. Also I think the rear overhang is too long but that's probably to make the trunk reasonably large. Still looks a bit odd in the side profile.

The car looks nice but the problem with a retro design is how to figure out what you do to replace the damn thing.

Did you even read my post? It was pretty much all about the rear end.

Default '05 Mustang Pics

From the same site as the Cobra thread.

http://www.maximum-cars.com/Cars/Car.php?carnumber=522

One thing caught my eye:

"We talked to a lot of Mustang owners as we were developing this program," said Hau Thai-Tang, chief engineer. "They are a very passionate group, and a lot of them told us – very strongly – that the all-new Mustang had to have a solid rear axle." :chuckles:

I doubt that.
