I like the look of the sling shot. I wonder if there will be an SRT-x version. Would be nice.

When I saw the back end of the Sling Shot I knew it looked familiar but I couldn't place it with what car it reminded me of. Now I figured it out: it's the Renault Megane.

Excerpt from article "DCX offers sneak peek at Detroit show cars" Nov 24.
"Another concept planned for the Detroit auto show, the Jeep Rescue, is a truck the size on an H2 Hummer built on a 123-inch wheelbase. The H2's wheelbase is 122.8 inches.
The four-door Rescue features removable doors and a folding windshield."

SMART MOVE FOR DODGE
Chrysler will unveil its own take on the new Smart Roadster at January’s Detroit motor show with this Dodge Slingshot concept.
Designed at the Chrysler Pacifica advanced design studios in Carlsbad, Southern California, this pint-sized two-door, two-seater is intended to look bolder and beefier than the Smart on which it is based.
Like the Smart Roadster, the Slingshot features dent-resistant composite body panels and comes powered by its three-cylinder, 90bhp motor mated to a five-speed clutchless transmission.
Design chief Trevor Creed described it as the ‘complete opposite’ to Dodge’s 500bhp V10-engined SRT-10 roadster but ‘just as much fun’.
The Slingshot showcar has a targa-style removable roof panel.
Chrysler says it will gauge the reaction of show-goers to the car before considering production feasibility, though insiders admit that adding a Dodge body to the Smart could be done easily, and would provide a quick response to GM’s upcoming Pontiac Solstice roadster.

I'm really digging the new sketches of the Dodge Slingshot. Come to think of it, the car is actually along the lines of the "Razor" concept they previewed a few years ago. If I recall correctly, that car was almost a small coupe that was supposed to sticker for around $16k. If Dodge built this, kept the price reasonable and put a larger engine in it, I'd see this as being a huge success.
