So I went to the local yamaha shop yesterday and was just planning on looking around and the next thing I know, im filling out paperwork for the bike. It is a blue and white 2001 yamaha R6. All stock except for it is lowered.

I bought the bike for $4,500. Pics are soon to come once I get my digital camera fixed. This is my first sport bike. I have a 2000 honda shadow that I have been riding for about a year.

Yes I know there is a big difference but I am tyring to be as careful as possible when I ride it.

I went for about a 3 hour ride yesterday with a buddy and this thing is fun!!

 

Lowered? If I were you, I would have told them to raise it back to stock height. Characteristics change a bit when it's lowered. Unless you're short and want to leave it?

Anyway, cool, you got a new a bike. Treat her well and it will treat you the same.

 

Yes I am only 5' 7" so I was actually looking for a lowered bike. I can touch the ground on a stock height bike but I am on my tippy toes and I feel much for comfortable with the lowered bike.

I just sold my 02 R6 I loved the bike handles great, So i bought an 05 R1 and i thought the R6 was fast.

 

Thats sweet! How much did you sell your R6 for? How do you like the R1? I considered an R1 for about 1.5 seconds, then I changed my mind.

 

I sold it for $6000 the new R1 is crazy i love it
