Default 2002 CRV Timing Chain Replacement??

Just curious as to when a timing chain should be replaced on my 2002 CRV?

dont know for sure, but have it checked at 60k miles, or asap if its over that mileage

Timing chains have no regular service interval. Reports are, that as long as you change your engine oil on a regular basis, the CR-Vs chain will not have any problems.



BTW unlike timing belts that break and cause lots of damage, a chain will usually fail because it wears and becomes stretched. Then you may hear a rattling noise in the engine, or have driveability problems.
