I noticed that the automatic transmission, in manual mode, does not shift into the next higher gear while accelerating hard. Is this normal and the same with all Acura automatics in manual mode? I'm trying to shift at 3K RPM, but it wont let me unless I let up on the gas. So what happens is that I'm always looking down to figure out what gear I'm in. Is this normal? Is everyone experiencing the same thing? Thanks.

 

We have an 04 MDX without the slapstick and it was at honda for repairs so they loaned us a brand new 07 mdx. I drove it all over and it shifted up, albeit delayed, whenever i wanted it to. 80mph in 2nd is not bad for an suv...
