Do you guys think I can change my shocks and struts by myself? Is there a step by step instructions? Also anyone know where I can get car parts wholesale? For my 1999 Honda Odyssey

the shocks no problem you will need a jack.the struts you will need a strut compressor(their are some cheep strut compressors out there).

is your strut leaking, just wont return(bounces),bent,or loose.if its just leaking you will just need the strut you will have to remove the tire pop the bottom ball joint take off the brake line and abs sensor(not all the way their is a couple of bolt for support) take out the 2 bots holding the strut to the knuckle remove the sway bar links remove the 3 bolts on top(under the cowl)don't remove the bigger center nut yet you will shoot the strut out(it deadly)thats where you will need the spring compressor.compress the spring and then remove the center nut.replace the strut and put it back together.or to make it simple and with now compressor by the hole strut Assembly comes pre assembled.the shocks are easy one nut 2 bolts you have to compress them to get them to fit but you do that with your hand(no chance of death).struts are in the front shocks in the rear.

nice explaination but umm can you by any chance tell me step by step?

Actually heres the real deal I am a beginner at this stuff and I was looking to get a diagrams included instruction manual type of thing. I dont wanna mess anything up. Those techs charge labor like crazy and I love cars so I thought I would get some experience and do it myself. If anyone can give me step by step (diagrams would be helpful but not required).

i would recommend a book(not being an ass)thy are full of picks.go to any parts store and order one or you can by one from Honda(thy cost a lot).you can also use the search button up top should be some strut changing info(probably not for a van).if you are next to a dealer thy can print it all out if thy are nice.sorry i have no picks or step by step shit.you could also get the new strut Assembly and see what you have to take of by looking at the new one.I'm out hope i helped.
