Default '06 Odyssey EXL Uncontrolled Acceleration from Idle

I am trying to find out if any other Odyssey owners have experienced a surge in engine acceleration from idle without application of the throttle?

My mother just described for me a situation where her '06 van surged forward about 25 feet unexpectedly. She is now scared to death to drive the vehicle and is afraid it will continue to do the same thing -- only in a situation where someone could get hurt because of the problem. The van is only 5 weeks old, and has otherwise shown no problems.

The local dealer and regional Honda technical manager say there are no reported problems of this kind and there is nothing wrong with the van. If anyone else has experienced problems of this kind on this model, the further discussion here is appreciated.

I was at a stop light though and it wanted to get going, so i put it in neutral and it almost stuck at red-line (about 6krpm) and stayed there, put it in park, turned off engine and on restart, no issue again...very strange, found something very close logged as a complaint on nhtsa.org - geez, sometimes it sucks that the drivers have to be matlock on these kinds of issues.
