my mom has a 2004 element and it ate up the tires that came on it in no time. does anyone know why it would do that.

No that seems to be the case on all of them. Oddys. and Pilots do the same. Just keep rotating them ever 7500 miles and i would maybe change the brand to something else

Rotate tires and keep your alignment checked periodically.
