CEL on and Check Trans light blinking.
After having the cel light come on and the check trans light blink I followed your directions and took my car to Autozone.
They got error code P1870. They couldn't come up with an answer.
I then took it to Goodyear for them to determine the exact problem.
They stated they didn't have the tools to diagnose the issue and recommended I take it to the dealer.
My issue with that is the last time I took it to the dealer they took the tranny apart and couldn't find anything (300 bucks later)
They said that if it happens again they would have to replace the transmission. Can someone give me a viable option?
I am willing to go to the dealer if necessary but the only symptoms
are the lights..
I checked out the error code and it says there is a short somewhere between the transmission and the battery.

error code 1870 isn't very descriptive in the diagnostic codes:
P1870, P1873, P1879, P1885, P1886, P1888, P1890, P1891
are listed as A/T Concerns.
So this happened b4? Hum, if they can't fix it I think in 3 attempts it fails as a lemon car - if it's a new car.
So if you paid $300 then I guess it's not under warranty. so not new car then.

Good Luck
