Default Shuttle Replacement

Hi,
Glad I found this site, looks interesting. I am in the UK, but you guys might be able to help me
I have a Shuttle (Oddessy), 1997 with 120k miles. Great vehicle, total reliability, but time to change.
I run a Range Rover as well for off-road / bad weather use / towing.
Would like to replace both with a 4 wheel drive Honda, but the CRV is the only option over here. It is a bit lightweight compared with the RR, and hasn't permanent 4WD.
Question: Does the change from 2WD to 4WD work effectively? Can it be manually over-ridden? Assume diff locks are out of the question? In summery, is it any good off-road?
I have just seen mention of a Passport? Are there real off-roaders made by Honda? We get japanese imports over here, so if there was an import option (rhd) I would be interested. Not mega bucks though
Thanks in anticipation of a reply

I really wouldn't consider a CRV for ''off-roading''. I consider it a Civic with a little more space. If you are interested in a Honda SUV, I'd suggest the MDX (under the moniker Acura) or Honda Pilot.

I drove a friend's Pilot, it was very nice. Honda also released a new SUT, check out the news section of this forum.

Welcome!
