New recall for MDX, PILOT,ODY
Pay attention to your mailboxes ppl Honda has issued a major recall on MDX, PILOT and ODY. vehicles. The transmissions are overheating due to insuff. oiling in the transmission.
There is a recall for 2002 waterpump too. I found it on a AOL auto site. I called the dealership and they said it doesn't affect my Accord even though the site says it does. I am doing more research and will keep people up to date.
There should be a recall forum for peple to visit. It should be heavily guarded to prevent 12 years making up stuffs like Honda is recalling all of the V8 Accords and such.

That waterpump recall was small and it's pretty well known now. It's about 18 months old since it was released.
This new recall is huge. At this post we at the dealership are getting some information but nothing has been released by Honda yet. When the service bulletin is released I'll try to post a pdf. to interested parties. I called techline friday and was told the recall is 100% of 01-02 MDX's. I know Pilot's and Ody.'s will be affected as well but I don't know the figures on those. He also said that we are going to be inspecting all of the vehicles affected by looking into the transmission fill hole with a camera and noting what color the gearshaft looks like. He stated that if it's silver we just install an oiler tube and release it, if it's a blue or yellow color(indicating it got hot) we replace the transmission. Off the record he stated that it's only been a problem with high mileage vehicles and expects low numbers on complete transmission replacements.

and the timing belt auto-tensioner/water pump recall is only for j32 and j35 engines.

honestly, the whole oiler jet thing seems kinda sketchy.
I posted this thread on the 19th, it wasn't out yet. The info I had came from techline.
Anyways, it's not a bad recall. I think it's harder to figure out the camera and it's little holder thingy.
