so does this sound legit to you guys? if i have a transaction number through ebay. is safeharbor@ebay.com an official ebay account. i dont know how someone would be able to get the ending of their email to be "@ebay.com" if they weren't a member from there...please help me out here

Haha, you can make an e-mail seem like it's from somewhere else very easily. Sounds like a scam, forward that to eBay personnel.

i did and they said that it was not from ebay so they will be checking it out. the only way ill send him the money is if he sends me the stuff first, i check it all out, and then send him the money. but we all know how likely that is gonna happen. but if we have a "secure transaction number" then it shouldn't be a problem right?

Basically the way an escrow service works is you send the money and the seller sends the product to the escrow. The escrow holds onto whichever gets there first and once both arrive, ships the item to the buyer and the money to the seller.

The fact that this guy is supposedly in England makes me think it's even more of a scam. I wouldn't do it.
