B17a1?

Is this the right engine code for the 92-93 Integra GS-Rs? How come you dont see these engines built up like u do B18s all tha time? Also, what is tha chassis code for 90-93 Integras? DA?
THanks

is your car a 1.7 liter or 1.8 because thats what that stands for, figure that out and you should knwo the answer

DelSolSIinMD 10-04-2003 10:24 PM

Yes, B17a1 is the engine for the G2 Integra GS-Rs. Why aren't more built up? Simply because very very few 92-93 GS-Rs were built. I think the chassis code for 90-93 Integras was DA6.

They were also stroked out B16s, which'll run you into more stability issues with turbo and such over a B18C1, which get their larger displacement from wider cylinders...

Incorrect.

All B-series motors have an 81 mm bore, except for the B20B and B20Z which have an 84 mm bore.

Erp... my bad then... so the differences in displacement between the b16-b18 are in the stroking?

MrFatbooty 10-05-2003 01:54 PM

Everything from B16A to B20A5 is 81 mm bore with strokes ranging from 77 to 95 mm.

The B21A1 ('90-'91 USDM Prelude Si) was basically a B20A5 (95 mm stroke) with an 83 mm bore.

The B20B and B20Z are variations on the B18B (89 mm stroke) but with an 84 mm bore.

The B18C has an 87.2 mm stroke, the B17 is 81.4, and the B16 is 77.

Wow... thanks.

90-93 rs, ls and gs is da9. 92-93 gsr is da6.

I know a kid who has a mint 93 gs-r just sittin around in his yard. The engine needs a rebuild so he can't drive it. The car hasn't moved in almost 3 years. I wish I could get this kid to sell it to me. They really are pretty rare cars. I've only seen a few.
