I want to change the speaker in my GSR cause they SUCK and don't want to spend too much money. I was at best buy and was wondering what you guys think of these speakers:

why not, i got a friend that gets them a lot cheaper. he can get those for like 65 with a 2 year warranty on them in case they blow. but besides all that..... are the speakers any good????

DUDE, I WORK AT BEST BUY!!! I am just a cashier, but seriously get major discounts off that $#itt. Go for Rockfords. The component system. I know the speakers and tweeters go for about $200, but i got mine for $72. And the rear rockford 6x9's i got for like $68, and they were originally like $145. If ur friend can hook u up, go for the 4-year service warranty. ITz originaly like $50.00 for 4 years, but he can get it at like $2.00. NO JOKE! you can blow ur speakers to kingdom com, but they'll still replace blown speakers. also, make sure that he doesnt already have those speakers, he can get into major trouble if best buy finds out that he's hookin friends up. So yea, go for the Rockfords.

 

rear speakers in a 3rd gen teg are 5 1/4 and furthermore ANY STORE THAT STOCKS SONY CAR AUDIO DOSENT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT AUDIO QUALITY the last good sony stereo was the xc-910 made back in 98

 

They are 6x9 in the 4-doors (Like Patman)

 

Stores are out to make a profit. They stock what people want to buy. People want to buy Sony decks, so stores carry Sony decks.

 

I'll tell you what, I just bought a Sony radio, not any stupid cheapo X-Plode radio, but a nice one that's worth $330 (screw gettin HU's that are $700 or some $#it like that, u dont need to spend so much money for quality, that's where named brands get you really), and it sounds hella good. I dont care if it craps out, because i bought the 4 year plan, that covers it if it craps out. If it craps out, i'll just go and get a different one for no extra charge. What's the matter w. sony? I've really heard alot of negative comments about Sony, but my dad and my sister have sony HU's in their cars, and i think they're great! And besides, it's not like Sony hasn't made a name for themselves. That's why everyone's heard about them. I just want to know why alot of people rank on sony (obviously their speakers are crap, but i already know that from experience.) our guys at the car audio section recommended it to me, and ive had no problems so far! thanx.
