not the same car but a friend of mine with a celi GT-S spoke with an engineer from AEM about the differences between v1 and v2. the engineer basically said that if you already have v1, don't bother spending $$ on v2. this is straight from the horse's mouth.

the V2 is the SAME diameter as the V1 but with a "harmonic chamber" - don't ask. Basically, its a heatshield to keep the air cooler. Others will say differently.

Save your money and stick with what you got.

V2 just has an added head shield. Don't even bother. The original model is fine.

it's not a damn heatshield. if you actually owned a V2 and took a look at it you'd notice the smaller piping does not extend the length of the intake. there is a place where the two overlap but at the filter end of the intake the piping is significantly larger so if it actually was a heatshield then it would be absolutely useless.

the V2 only performs slightly better than the original CAI because the air flowing into it resonates at two different sets of frequencies instead of just one. this affects airflow (and thus horsepower) only slightly because having the air resonate just removes some of the turbulence.

P.S. Don't buy the V2, there's barely any difference and if you already have the original then it's not worth your money as previously stated

Regardless of the supposed function of the extra stuff on the V2, it still produces about the same results as the original. There's only so much power you can gain from an intake.

i wouldn't bother with it.
buy a j's racing intake.

i got one, i like the looks a lot better, and well that's all it's really a bout when you deal with intakes.

I had the AEM cai. I have the V2 and love it. While i was at the nopi nats i spoke to some of the engineers that worked for AEM, and they were telling me that i should be making about 5 more wph on my 99 GSR. I noticed more power across the the hole rpm band. AEM told me that the last body style Accord with the 4 cyl gained 20 wph with this intake. The V2 is larger from the filter to almost the throtle body then gets smaller. AEM tells me that the rate of air flow coming in through the large end is forced through the smaller end creating a much greater air flow rate. If you don't belive me call AEM and let them tell you.

Of course AEM is going to tell you your car is making more power...that's how they get another $300 from ya. :-P Me personally, I love my DIY Icebox. $7, and I don't have to worry about hydrolocking.

I have heard though, that on the V2, a transmission mount must be changed for it to the B18C. Perhaps someone can confirm that.
