My Kenwood did that...the problem with that is if it automatically tunes to the radio when you eject the CD, your antenna will be going up and down everytime you change CDs, it'll wear the motor out! There was a "TI filter" whatever that is...it kept the antenna up all the time while the radio was powered on.

like i said in my other antenna post - just wire in a bypass switch. Switch it on, the antenna mast rises, when you want the radio. Switch it off, the antenna goes and stays down, when listening to a CD.
i bought the switch and am going to do this but couple of ?'s

- what kinda wire did u get it?
- and the switch i bought is a lil small for the hole, is there something i can put behind the switch and cut a little hole in it to allow that wires to get thru that will stay on there? i dont know if i xplined myself

i just used a regular 12v capacity wire. i cut out a rectangular hole into one of the blanks sitting in the center console (along the ebrake) and jammed the switch in there.

you're correct about the wire color.

this article is what i followed.

Click on upgrades & mods then scroll down to electrical. You want the Antenna Switch on the right side.
