I wanted to thank you for taking the time to type out the procedure you recommended. It worked! I didn't get a chance to buy brake assembly grease, so for the time being I used Valvoline SynPower Super Lubricate (this spray will get rid of any creak, squeak, or whine. It puts WD-40 to shame).

Worked for me too, but not forever. I have to do it once or twice a year.
