Default A tribute to Brigette...

This takes place on September the 21st, 2003 at about 8:30 PM est.

I had JUST washed my car, gotten my windshield replaced two days before, had a 4 wheel alignment done about a week ago, and took pictures of my nice shiny car to go on my cardomain page.

So i was going to get some chinese food w/ my sister up at UCONN (the local university). I approached a five lane road, 3 lanes going my way, and two lanes going the opposite way. I pulled into the right-most lane because traffic was stopped up in the lane next to me and the lane next to that. I was going to make a right turn at the light ahead, so i decided to took my foot off the gas...I was going about 40mph and coming to a slow.

When all of a sudden, a TRUCK shoots out in between cars, from the LEFT side of the road all the way to the RIGHT side of the road. I didnt see him comin, he didnt see me comin, and i T-boned the right front wheel of his truck, smashing in the front end of my car.

Of course, i get out, my sister screaming her head off, wondering what the hell just happened. My car was smoking, the hood was smashed, and liquid was pouring out of my car. The airbags DID NOT DEPLOY, probably because I had slammed down on the brakes right before I hit him and I had slowed down a bit.

His daughter was the passenger in his truck, and she had hit her head on the passenger's side window. She was crying in pain and holding her head. The guy immediately called the police and told them what had happened.

When the police showed up, he told them what he had done. He said he was waiting to cross the street, the 5 LANE ROAD, and a person had decided that it would be a good idea to let him cross, granting him the right of way. When I came in the right lane and smashed into him.

Well, it turns out that he failed to yield the right of way and broke the law by coming into oncoming traffic. No witnesses stopped and helped out, they just stared at me when i got out of my car. Basically, the fault is his, the blame is on him. He destroyed my dear sweet Brigette and his insurance owes me a new car (if i cant get it fixed). The radiator leaked, both headlights are damaged, the compressor is damaged, which means some frame damage may have ocurred. Bumper is dead, so is the hood, but both front fenders were spared. I just thought I'd let you all know that I am NOT moving away from the Acura integra biz, i WILL get another GS-R if i cant get mine fixed. Just be aware when traffic is stopped and U have a lane free. I will post pics of my dead car when i get the chance, but you all can visit her on http://www.cardomain.com/id/patman015

I'm gonna have to agree on the JDM front end. I can only imagine how sweet it would look on a 4-door.

Just be careful that the frame is not bent. If it is, try and convince the insurance company to total the car and get the $$. The reason is that if the frame is bent, the car will never be the same again....EVER!! Trust me in that I have had a car that had its frame straightened after being in a wreck and it was never the same (things started to go wrong left and right). What year was the car? Your avatar shows a 1995? If that is correct, your insurance company will offset the cost of repairs against the market value of the car and if it is more than 50%, they will total the car and you will get the $$....

Just my .02 cents worth on what to expect.

Scott.
