Default back from track

just got back from my first time at the track. it was fun, lots of muscle cars....anyway here's my best run

reaction: 1.061
60 foot: 2.439
330 foot: 7.020
MPH1: 66.86
660 foot: 10.075
MPH2: 84.43
1320 foot: 16.571

16.571 was my best time. i live in colorado so 5000 feet in the air. i'm not completely dissapointed but it could've been better.

16.5 in a gsr???

do they give you a compensated time?

thats very slow for a gsr. work on your launch and shifting...and ride 3rd gear all the way to the end if you can.

the point here is that i live 5000 feet above sea level so 16.5 isn't really that bad....it probably equals around 15.5 at sea level. and launching doesn't count against your time

Like hell it doesn't. I think you meant R/T, but talking about launching correctly. You can launch correctly w/a .500 R/T just like you can at 1.xxx like you got:chuckles:

Work on it.

I got a 16.8 in my f22 powered 4 door accord

Try some different launching techniques. You should be able to hit at least a 2.2 on street tires. I bet with a 2.2 60, you'd be able to hit a high 15

I'm gonna have to disagree with holding 3rd gear out all the way through the traps. If your car is strong (like mine), you're gonna be doing 94-95mph at the end of the track (not necessarily trap speed.. top speed) and that puts your rpm AT the cutoff. Last time at the track, I tried this on my last run (95mph, 90% humidity). All my other numbers were very close, but because of the drastic power drop after 8K rpm, I actually trapped under 90mph for the first time ever, and got my worst et ever at 15.7. Even with the horrible weather, when I would switch to 4th right before the end, I would trap 91-92mph and get 15.5-15.6. Too much power loss... and btw, as SOON as I crossed the line, I hit cutoff as I was getting off the throttle.
