i wanted to get 17's but not sure if it will tuck, how low must i drop my car in order for the rim to just barely tuck? i wont need to drop it that much since the rim is bigger right? and what offset will work best for a sedan so it will tuck? and also 18x7 or 18x7.5? please help...

i have coilovers right now riding on 15 stock gsr rims, its pretty much slammed, i think its down to like almost 4 inches on both front and back, wonder what a 4 inch drop with my coilovers would look like if i had 17 or 18's on my car...

this is the kind of drop i want on 17's or 18's with coilovers, wll this be possible with skunk2 coilovers. here's a pic to descrive the drop i want, how the rims tuck under the fender just a little bit, or where it the top part of the rim just sits on the bottom of the fender is how i want.

 

the 4 inch drop lookd well in good but i dont think u can get over man speed bumps. and when u get the rims u wont be able to keep that drop. u may need to go up 2 inches or so especially if u go 18inches

 

most 18 inch rims are 8in wide and that wouldnt tuck

 

so with 18's i wont be able to tuck since the rims are too wide? i thought 18's are 18x7.5 not 8

can i tuck with 17x7.5?

 

ya you can tuck with 17 barely, it will be very close those, and you might not wanna slam it too much cause then you gotta watch out for little bumps and what not.

 

bumps are no problems to me, its all flat down here where i love, so i drive my car slammed now on 15's, so i just wanna swap out my 15s and put 17's or 18s on so it will look more tucked, i cant do that with 15s since the tire is too thick, but with 17/18's i wont need to drop it that much in order for it to tuck right? and is it true that if i get 18's it will make my car higher? if so i rather just get 17's

what offset is the best for tucking?

ya dude just got with 17's and what kinda 15's you got right now cause if they gsr's ill take em.

 

18 will not only make your car taller but they will lagg the car extremely in other words you wont be able to take off as quickly and you wont be able to peel out.

 

i have SI's hehe sorry, ok so my best best is go with 17's right? i can definetly tuck them? i have coilovers, so im sure anything past 2 inches will tuck... right now its down to the max, almost 4 inches...

do you know what offset i use? is +40 ok? and 17x7? or do i get 17x7.5? theres also +42 offset, not sure which ones to get
