vtec and i-vtec difference
it's basically the same as vtec, with one exception...

The engine can advance or retard the intake cam up to 50 degrees as needed for power or emission...
Also, don't i-VTEC systems also have a lot of control over the ignition timing of the vehicle... like up to some redicilous number like 50 degrees as well?
Hrm... so it looks like Hondata has made ROM flashes for the RSX-S, but hasn't made a standalone ECU management system... The K20A2 will really shine when independent tuning shops can do per-application tunes...

Like i said IMO = In My Opinion
iVTEC > VTEC
Vtec only changes to a bigger cam lobe. iVtec does this, and also allows for on the fly timing changes of the intake cam as stated above.
Hondata has been working on a way to control the cam timing through the ECU...when they do, they'll be able to optimize it for performance.

PLUS, with i-VTEC you can safely run lower octane (87-89) with no performance or fuel loss.

No, the compression ratio dictates the octane gas you need to run, it has nothing to do with iVtec.
