Default Funny sliding sounds

I don't know how to describe this. But I will try my best, on every acceleration(especially when after driving car for a while), it is like cog wheels sliding against each other. Normally cog wheels teeth would fit tight and one would drive the other.
But it feels like something is sliding, when it shouldn't.
Sometimes it feels like on the left front wheel, but sometimes on the right front wheel.

Is it a belt about to crack?
Is it a crank/cam shaft?

if your rpm's rise when it feels this way you might want to check your clutch. that is my only guess compared to what you explained.

My 1988 integra is an automatic, so I do not have a clutch.
This problem occurs only on acceleration and it is happening more often now. When I release the gas pedal and let the car cruise, it wasn't there. Of course, when you accelerate, the RPM would always go up.

"clicking" from any specific side of the front of the car could be a CV joint, but you would notice any noise it makes will usually get louder and more frequent as you turn the wheel further while in motion.

this sliding sound isnt a very detailed despription, im sure i am not the only confused reader(i have no clue what a "sliding" cog wheel sounds or feels like)...

Are you saying that it feels like gear teeth(cogs) are slipping? or is it a sound? is it a slow noise or feeling, or fast, and does it increase with speed?

stuff like that is very helpfull

good luck

Actually, it sounds and feels like gear teeth/cogs slipping/clicking.
It certainly increases with speed during acceleration i.e when I give it gas.
When I let go of the gas pedal, its not there.

Have you checked all four CV boots for cracks or splits that would indicate bad joints?

Check the fluid level of your Automatic Transmission. Sounds to me like a problem with either the fluid coupling, or the torque converter not locking up at speed.

Do the revs rise quickly- despite the car accelerating slowly- when you depress the gas pedal?

All CV boots replaced not too long ago. By looking at the CV boots the mechanic might think the CV joints are fine.
