Default Time for new motor mounts.

I think I need new motor mounts for two reasons:
1) On the track a few weeks ago, when I launced my car I would get terrible wheel hop, enough to break my my center counsol and send one of the vents to the back seat. I was told that motor mounts would solve this problem.
2) secondaly and more importantly, my exhaust system is broken and the weld at the beginning of the resinator. Which I figure is because my motor is moving too much. I have a completely stock exhaust system from a 97 ls.

I almost 100% sure that they are the stock mounts. The motor has about 90k on it. I have already decided on my new exhaust setup, But I feel that i need to replace the mounts before hand otherwise I will just break my new exhaust system. Any other thoughts on this situation? Also, What kind of mounts do you recammend, or should I just buy inserts? If I remember correctely the rear motor mount, attached the the front crossmember, Is a solid piece of metal. So I should not have to replace that one. Am I wrong? Or does it have rubber in it also?

the rear motor bracket that bolts onto the block is a solid piece of metal, but it still mounts onto a rubber piece.

i'd check the rubber first to see any sign of wear and tear before investing. if that's the case, replace them then buy the motor mount inserts. i bought the Energy Suspension kit and it included three inserts: lower tranny, lower driver side, and the rear.

my car hopped like that also. i believe my hop was due to a poor suspension, which transferred to my motor mounts. even if you fix your motor mounts now, you might encounter the same problem again later.

How much does it cost to replace an engine mount?
My engine jerks a bit on every acceleration. It wasn't like that before.

Whe you say that you had a poor suspension set up are you refering to stock? Right now I am running eibach sportline springs, with tokico illumina adjustables. I messed with the shocks all night, and never really had a good launch though, then again I contribute most of my bad launces to inexperience with launching my lighted flywheel.
