Default Throwing codes is causing problem

Hi

I have a 01 gsr with most bolt ons, cai/tb/im/h/e/and no cat. awhile ago i got rid of the cat and replacd it with a straight pipe. Thats when i first seen the check engine light come on. Just recently I got the JG edlebrock throtle body, now i have a problem! I know when the check engine light is on it throws code, but now my idle has a mind of its own. It goes up and down from 1000 to 2000 (most of the time 1500).

I was wonder now that my ride is doing its own thing, if i were to get a new ECU like, Hondata, or skunk2, will that fix my car from throwing codes cause it has an all new computer?

help, thanks!

how did yo go about running straight pipe. I know shops won't do it for you. Also, how do you plan on gettign inspection? I have a stock CAT and it pisses me off. The bolts are so rusted i can't get them off with a wrench/socket set.

The straight pipe was made in new york by some guy he welded flangs on a test pipe then drilled a o2 sensor made treads for it and presto no cat. What do you mean by inspection, emissions i'll just put the cat back on. Ohh and just try wd40 on the rust or some kind of acid to eat way the rust.

Well, I have one obvious question:

What code is it giving? When the check engine light comes on, that means something is wrong that you have to fix. Replacing the computer won't make engine problems go away.

It sounds to me like an EACV problem.

If you are throwing a code, there is obviously a problem...so start with checking the code, and go from there.
